the oxymoron

in majestic night, beneath the silvery moon,
as the bright fireflies of the summer nights swoon,

the jasmine blooms, so haunting in splendor,
a gift from a star from some benevolent sender,

as our ancestors dance, I glimpse their shy shimmer,
and light is sipped slowly, a chablis of a glimmer.

a world hidden, pressed gently, as petals in pages
for centuries, linen bound, by mystics and sages,

passed wisdom and tale, through symbols and quotients
of scents that heal matter through the soulfullest potions

that linger from here, cast to planets afar,
breathtaking effulgence from each twinkling star.

the marriage of beauty and mystery transcends
as light, and thoughts, and reality bends.

time that befriends us, yet quickens its pace.
so humbled, I gaze my stirred reverence to space.

wise tendrils of grapes extend spirals of love,
with roots stretched below, share bounty above.
from darkness, it carries, to well nurtured stables
as horses, so wild, trot forth from lost fables.

when I last dreamed, when last I believed,
that faith is a plant, a seed so conceived.
that hope is divine, no mere flowering weed
grows a garden less tame, where compassion can breed

in dark we surrender to brave luminescence,
an elegant fragrance, so gentle in essence.

the stone where I kneel, where strength is less fragile,
where wishes released are both patient and agile.

with hands wiped by tears, I reach to what’s vital.
cleansing the ether in translucent recital.

the path is upon us, cobbled and winding.
each pebble, a day passed we were absently minding.

with the dew on the grasses, scrying in wonder,
the prayers clear their throats upon distant thunder.

so breezes capture the gossamer thread
of theories that glisten in deep waters ahead.

the Oceans’ vast secrets flashing diamonds so brief
with rhythms so ancient, bringing soothing relief.

a vow to embrace, as a holy commandment,
to tiptoe, so wide-eyed, so full of enchantment.

a spell so tender, that touches the spirit
with a song from the cosmos so clear, can you hear it?

the reserves of goodness and light never cease,
though in life’s mythic trials, how elusive is peace?

in storms most blinding, this magic prevails
as a sail adrift petitions life-giving gales.

it is under the trees.
it is under the moon.
it is behind the heart that crumbles in ruin.
in the place where truth glistens only in shade,
for in sun too bright, even sight can evade.

brief is life, though long is survival.
our mind, our own pain, is by far our worst rival.

on a planet so far from heaven, we’re bound.
yet it’s here the vast magic of life can be found…
